Lamborghini Gallardo Superleggera

As i mentioned in my recent post, access to unique situations and people is one of the greatest things about being a photographer. Ive been fortunate enough to drive most cars that i have shot, including the Lamborghini Gallardo Superleggera (pictured above). This is the ’super light’ version of the road going Gallardo. It has bucket seats, racing harness, no radio or air con, essentially the car is stripped back of its luxury’s to save weight and increase the power to weight ratio (weight is the enemy when its comes to speed, carrying excess just slows you down). My approach to this shot was to show the car ‘on fire’ as it was a red hot car to drive. I used a technique of light painting, generally used in still life photography, as you need to shot long exposures and have the subject matter not move. Retouching Rob Ison @ Core Digital.
